EC (Babies to Pre-K)

Our Early Childhood area is the safest place for our youngest kids on a Sunday morning! Infants experience God’s unique love for them through the care of loving volunteers. Toddlers gather for special Bible stories and music time, and our Pre-K kids participate in special Bible-themed arrival activities that change each month.

Welcome New Families!

Our video below gives you an idea of what to expect on a Sunday morning in Valley Kids!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Sunday mornings in VK are high energy and full of amazing worship, fun games, and most importantly, biblical teaching. All of these things are age appropriate and geared toward your child’s specific age/grade level.

  • Our 1 and 2 year olds usually have a snack of Goldfish crackers during service. If your child has an allergy, please let us know so we can keep them safe! You are welcome to pack a snack that your child can enjoy. And all kids are welcome to bring water (in a bottle or sippy cup, please). Our older children will sometimes receive a special treat from their group leaders – candy, cookies, doughnuts, etc. Again, please make sure we are aware of any allergies so we can keep your child safe while they are in Valley Kids!

  • All of our staff and volunteers have completed a background check prior to serving with children.

  • • Birth-2’s: No more than 8 children in a room with two volunteers/staff

    • 3’s-5’s: No more than 12 children in a room with two volunteers/staff

    • K-5th: No more than 20 children in a room with two volunteers/staff

  • Our volunteers are happy to change diapers for babies thru age 2. If your preschooler is potty trained, they will be brought to the bathroom as needed. If they require assistance or reminders to use the restroom, please let their leaders know so they can be aware of this. We do suggest packing a change of clothes if your child is in the potty training phase, as accidents can happen, especially in a new environment.

  • Emergency plans, maps, and first aid kits can be found near the doorway entrance to each room/area throughout our children’s building. A trained security team is present on Sunday mornings across the campus. Staff and volunteers are trained and provided with communication tools (i.e. walkie talkies, keys, first aid supplies, etc.) for appropriate implementation for emergency use. Please don’t hesitate to ask for further information on any emergency plans so we can keep your child safe while they are in Valley Kids!

  • Absolutely! All children are welcomed in Valley Kids. If you would like to discuss options to best meet the needs of your child, we are happy to arrange a time to meet. Our CCV Friends team members help students with social, emotional, and/or physical needs participate in an inclusive Sunday worship experience.

  • If your baby or toddler won’t stop crying, we will text you! We will make sure to arrange and exchange communication resources upon drop off, especially if it’s a child’s first time.

  • VK is divided between early childhood and elementary age groups. Early childhood has separate rooms for babies (newborn to walker), one year old, two years old, and pre-k (3 to 5 years). Early elementary (“K3” – kindergarten thru 3rd grade) meets in our main VK auditorium and older elementary (“The 4/5” – 4th and 5th grades) gathers in “The 4/5”. Worship and lessons are often taught together (K-5), and then each grade splits into small groups for discussion and prayer.

  • We would love to have you! If you are interested in volunteering in Valley Kids, please follow this link and we will be in touch!
